Our Work
Close-Knit Communities Coalition (CKCC) strengthens communities by connecting people, resources, and opportunities that promote economic mobility, youth development, violence prevention, and community well-being. Through collaborative partnerships, direct services, leadership development, and advocacy, we work to address the root causes of inequity while building pathways to sustainable change.
Our programs focus on empowering women entrepreneurs, supporting youth leadership and literacy, increasing food security, preventing human trafficking, and providing trauma-informed services for survivors. Whether we're helping a woman launch her business, mentoring young leaders, cultivating a community garden, or supporting vulnerable youth, our work is grounded in the belief that thriving communities are built through collective investment, shared responsibility, and community-driven solutions.
Together, we are creating safer neighborhoods, stronger families, and brighter futures—one connection at a time.

Economic Sisterhood
pact
Building Economic Power Through Collective Action
The Economic Sisterhood Pact (ESP) is CKCC's economic mobility and entrepreneurship initiative designed to help women, particularly Black women, women of color, low-income women, and aspiring entrepreneurs, build sustainable wealth through education, networking, mentorship, and business development support.
ESP provides access to business readiness training, financial literacy education, procurement and certification assistance, grant and capital readiness services, and peer accountability networks that strengthen long-term economic stability. Through workshops, coaching, resource-sharing, and strategic partnerships, participants gain the tools needed to launch, grow, and sustain businesses while increasing household income and community investment.
Our goal is to reduce economic disparities by creating pathways to entrepreneurship, asset-building, and financial independence while fostering a culture of collective advancement where women don't just spend money—they circulate opportunity.

The Next Chapter Program is a youth leadership and literacy initiative that equips young people with the skills, confidence, and resources to tell their stories, strengthen academic achievement, and develop leadership capacity.
Through creative writing, literacy enrichment, financial literacy, entrepreneurship education, and civic engagement activities, participants explore their identities while building critical communication and problem-solving skills. Youth work alongside community mentors, educators, and local leaders to create published works, community projects, and presentations that amplify their voices and experiences.
The program is designed to improve literacy outcomes, increase self-efficacy, promote positive youth development, and foster a lifelong commitment to leadership, education, and community engagement. By helping young people write their next chapter, we empower them to shape their futures and influence the communities around them.

S.I.S. Program
Survivor Integrated Services for Minor Victims of Sex and Labor Trafficking
The Survivor Integrated Services (S.I.S.) Program provides trauma-informed, survivor-centered support for minors who have experienced sex trafficking, labor trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, or related forms of victimization.
Recognizing that recovery requires coordinated and individualized care, the program connects youth and their families to comprehensive services including case management, emergency stabilization, mental health referrals, educational advocacy, legal support, housing navigation, workforce readiness, and family reunification services when appropriate.
The S.I.S. Program prioritizes safety, healing, and long-term empowerment through a strengths-based approach that honors survivor autonomy and resilience. By coordinating services across multiple systems, the program works to reduce barriers to care, prevent re-victimization, and improve outcomes related to education, housing stability, physical and behavioral health, and community reintegration.
Through partnerships with schools, service providers, law enforcement, healthcare systems, and community organizations, S.I.S. helps survivors move from crisis to stability and from survival to self-determination.

Community cares fund
Meeting Urgent Needs. Restoring Stability. Strengthening Community.
The Community Cares Fund is CKCC's emergency assistance and community support initiative designed to help individuals and families facing unexpected crises that threaten their safety, stability, or well-being.
Through flexible, rapid-response assistance, the fund provides support for urgent needs such as emergency housing, utility assistance, transportation, food security, basic necessities, legal advocacy referrals, domestic violence survivor support, and other critical barriers that place individuals and families at risk. The fund serves as a bridge during times of hardship, helping community members stabilize their circumstances while connecting them to long-term resources and support systems.
Recognizing that crises do not follow business hours or funding cycles, the Community Cares Fund allows CKCC to respond quickly and compassionately when community members need help most. Assistance is paired with resource navigation, referrals, and community partnerships to promote lasting solutions rather than temporary relief alone.
By investing directly in people during their most vulnerable moments, the Community Cares Fund helps prevent homelessness, reduce financial hardship, strengthen family stability, and ensure that no neighbor has to face a crisis alone.
